Open letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Hopefully, Mr. Trudeau can read it or someone can send it to him.

The first thing I would like to tell you is that I am an Ecuadorian citizen, and adopted son of Canada, and that I am very happy and very proud of this country, I believe and am sure that Canada is one, if not the best country in the world.

Unfortunately, human beings make mistakes, many times without realizing it, the problem is that if I or another common citizen make a mistake, the scrutiny will only be from our families or close friends, but if a leader or a person in power , is wrong, the scrutiny will be of all citizens, and many times of citizens of other nations.

With all the respect that you deserve, Mr. Prime Minister, I would like to ask you, if you know of the negotiations that are being carried out between the Government of Canada and that of Ecuador, in relation to the purchase of mines in Ecuador.

If you don’t know, I hope that’s the case, because I tell you, I am a faithful admirer of you and I tell you that I have voted for you on two occasions, with this I want you to know that I am not writing this letter out of personal annoyance. towards you.

Empires in past times became accustomed to going to other countries and abusing their natural assets, with oil or mining concessions, which were granted by corrupt rulers and who never took into consideration the situation of the citizens who lived in them. in those areas.

The citizens who live in these exploited areas are the least favored, and are often forcibly expelled from their land and homes, only for the benefit of a few exploiters, and from which not even the country benefits.

I do not believe that you are in that situation of seeking your own benefit, to enrich yourself without caring about the ancestral owners of those lands and areas.

Mr. Trudeau, these mining businesses that are being carried out with Ecuador are only benefiting a corrupt Ecuadorian government and are harming thousands of citizens of ancestral peoples, who have lived for hundreds of years in those areas, and who by carrying out these negotiations with Canada, they will be expelled from their homes.

Corrupt millionaires in Canada and other large countries are the only ones benefiting from this type of business. You should take as an example Real Estate companies in Toronto are selling land and properties in Gaza destroyed by Israel. People without conscience and with a lot of ambition, have a wallet in their hearts, and they do not care about the suffering that another human being is enduring, they are only interested in the profits they achieve.

This is what is happening in Ecuador right now, and unfortunately you will be complicit in this corruption, that is why with all my heart, I hope that you find out about this situation and are not part of it.

Mr. Justin Trudeau do not allow history to judge you poorly, allow your name to be held in the best esteem for the future.
